1. What we buy
We buy fine gold, silver, platinum and palladium. We pay more than scrap value for fine precious metals.
We buy unwanted jewellery, ornaments and more, in precious metals only, for the metal value only and at scrap value only.
We do not buy gold plated, silver plated items, copper, other metals and alloys. If you believe your items to be among this description, please do not send/bring them, we will not purchase this, if you are unsure you may send/bring it.

2. Agreement to Sell
By engaging in the sale of gold, the seller agrees to transfer ownership of the gold to the buyer, subject to the terms outlined in this agreement. Both parties acknowledge that the gold being put for sale is legally owned by the seller and is free from any encumbrances, liens, or claims.
These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights. Aylah Gold Buying Centre will not be held responsible for any incorrect information provided by the customer that may affect the normal processing and delivery of goods and services. Please ensure all details provided are correct and up to date, including home address, bank details (if required).
2. Valuation and Pricing
The price for the gold/precious metals is typically based on the current market rate, which is
subject to fluctuation. A fair market value will be assessed by the buyer using methods such as:
- Weight: Gold/precious metals will be weighed using a certified scale (high accuracy digital scales). Weights and measures provided by customer(s) are not accepted. We measure gold, silver, platinum and palladium content in grams and do not include any non-precious metal fixtures such as precious stones, clasps, embellishments or components made from other alloys. If there are many non-precious metal items involved in an item, we will estimate an approximate weight to deduct from the total weight to determine the precious metal weight to be valued. This is to give the best fair value without risking any damage to an item. If you are not satisfied with the price then we will seek your permission to remove gemstones/non precious metal content from your items for a more accurate weight and price. While we will take utmost care to remove the items, you accept that we will not be responsible for any damage caused to the non precious metal items i.e gemstones, embellishments etc and that they may be broken in the process. If you subsequently decline our offer, your gemstones and other non precious metal content will be returned loose along with your jewellery and any re-setting costs will be at your expense.
- Purity: The gold’s purity (measured in karats or fineness) will be determined through testing.
- Market Conditions: The price per gram or ounce will be based on the current market price at the time of sale. Prices are constantly fluctuating, we cannot guarantee prices between your initial enquiry and receipt of your goods.
- The price calculators on this website are to be used to find an estimated scrap value of your items. Any value calculated should not be taken as a final offer as we must analyse all items beforehand. The final offer is based on the market value on the day we receive and analyse your items. Therefore, the value generated by the calculators should not be treated as a binding offer which the user accepts by sending their goods.
- Typically it is time consuming and costly to remove gemstones from its setting than its value to us, there is little to no intrinsic value. In rare events where we find a gemstone(s) which does have intrinsic value, this will be taken into account when an offer is made to the customer.
- After analysing your items, we will contact you via email or telephone to extend our offer of how much we can purchase your item(s) for. The offer is based on the market value of the precious metals on the day we receive your item(s).
The final price offered to the seller will be communicated after evaluation, and the seller has the
option to accept or decline the offer.
3. Identification and Legal Compliance
- The seller must provide valid identification (e.g., passport, driver’s license) to confirm their identity and legal ownership of the gold.
- The transaction will comply with local and national laws, including anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) regulations.
- The buyer reserves the right to refuse the transaction if the seller cannot provide adequate identification or if there are any legal or compliance concerns.
- Customers must be at least 18 years of age and the legal owner of the items they are wishing to sell. In addition, the customer must guarantee that they have not acquired the goods through any other illegal means. The customer should also ensure that any transaction they initiate will not cause us and/or them to be in breach of British or international law, including anti-money laundering regulations, anti-terrorism laws and all other applicable laws of any country.
4. Payment Terms
- Method of Payment: Payment will typically be made through methods such as bank transfer, check, or cash, depending on the buyer’s practices and applicable laws.
- Payment Timing: The seller will receive payment either immediately after the transaction is completed or within a specified period (e.g., 1-3 business days). While we aim for prompt payments, we cannot always guarantee this as our/your bank may slow this process down.
- Transaction Fees: If applicable, any processing fees or transaction charges will be disclosed to the seller prior to the sale. Only if applicable, otherwise there’s usually no transaction fees.
- If incorrect bank details have been supplied by the customer to which AGBC have been advised to make a payment for the purchase of their items, it may take up to 10 working days for the payment to be reprocessed into the correct bank account. Please ensure all details provided are correct and up to date.
- If we are unsuccessful in contacting you for more than three consecutive working days via the contact details you provided, we reserve the right to process your property and make payment without further reference to you and that once processed, the property cannot be recovered. Furthermore once you have agreed with our valuation and request the payment this is an irrevocable transaction.
- If you choose to decline our offer, they will be returned to you via Royal Mail Special Delivery, for which you will have to cover return postage fees, a maximum of £15. There may be additional fee (maximum £20) to offset the cost of time spent analysing the items.
5. Condition of Metals
- The seller affirms that the gold is in a condition that can be accurately assessed. Any gold that is damaged, altered, or unfit for sale may be offered at a reduced price or declined.
- If the gold is in jewelry form, the buyer may consider the value of the gold separately from any stones or embellishments.
- AGBC purchases precious metal only, and for the metal scrap value only. You will be paid only for the precious metal content of your items. In order to achieve accurate pricing, you are requested to remove any gemstones, non-precious metal content, and embellishments prior to posting your items (if possible). AGBC will not be held responsible for loss or damage to gemstones or other content on jewellery that is sent to us for valuation. Additionally by sending us your jewellery you accept that the process of determining a value involves applying acids on the metal which can leave permanent stains and/or deep scratches.
- We also buy precious metals which are not hallmarked, however, if any items are found to be gold/silver plated or not to contain any precious metals, we reserve the right to make a reasonable charge for our time spent testing such items. This is because our small profit margins will be outweighed by our labour expense and time, maximum charge of £25. This time could have been utilised in other works of ours. We urge customers to make sure all items sent are precious metals to avoid time waste and charging customers. In the event that you’re unsure of what metals your items are you may send them over. We’ll only charge if absolutely necessary, this right is not always enforced or practised as we try to avoid it as much as possible.
6. Right to Inspect and Refuse
The buyer has the right to inspect the gold and verify its authenticity, weight, and purity before finalising the purchase. If the gold does not meet the standards or if the buyer believes the seller has misrepresented the item, the buyer reserves the right to refuse the sale or make a counteroffer.
If the customer is unable or unwilling to provide documentation when requested, Aylah Gold Buying Centre reserves the right to reject/return any goods to the customer and charge an appropriate fee to cover labour/time costs and a postage fee (if applicable).
7. Refund and Return Policy
- Once the gold is sold and payment is made, the sale is typically final. No returns, refunds, or exchanges will be allowed unless there is an error on the part of the buyer or if the gold is found to be counterfeit or not as described.
- Any disputes must be resolved in accordance with the dispute resolution procedures outlined in the contract.
- Customers have the right to cancel the sale of their goods at any time before payment has been dispatched to the customer. Once payment has been sent we can no longer accept return requests. In the case of bank transfers, certain banks may randomly delay immediate transfers whilst they conduct internal checks and investigate the purpose of payment, source of funds etc, in this event you may not have received your money instantly however it would have exited our bank account, thus making you ineligible for a return request.
- Cancellations must be made via email or telephone quoting your unique reference number. We do not accept any responsibility if there is any delayed response from our end to your method of communication (regarding cancellation or anything else), payment may be processed in this meantime which will nullify your right to request cancellation, return or refund. While we endeavor to maintain fast communication across all contact methods we use, we cannot guarantee immediate responses, mainly due to the fact that we can be busy in-store with customers and cannot divert our attention with high value goods present. So we urge customers to be absolutely sure that they’re ready to sell the item(s) if they accept our offer once made, because once payment is made the transaction cannot and will not be reversed.
Goods can only be returned to the sender’s original address. We reserve the right to charge a return postage fee on your package to cover postage costs and any insurance levied on the package by Royal Mail or our appointed courier. We will only return items using a recorded delivery service and take no responsibility for the loss or damage to items whilst in transit. Returns are dispatched within 5 working days.
8. Postage
- We accept no responsibility for the loss or damage of goods whilst in transit to us, customers must ensure all packages are well wrapped and all address labels are clearly readable. We accept no responsibility for the delay in delivery of your package or the value of your goods upon receipt compared to when you valued your goods on our website.
- We recommend all property sent to us by you, should be with a courier that employs a system whereby your shipment can be insured and tracked. All items shipped to us are at your own risk. We recommend that you use Royal Mail (Insured) Special Delivery for your shipment, where they provide multiple insurance value options for you to choose as you deem appropriate. They provide tracking data and will not deliver your parcel elsewhere during times when our store is closed (this is generally the case and normal Royal Mail practice, however we cannot predict any sudden change in their practice, therefore we are not responsible if they misplace your parcel.) Alternative delivery providers may deliver your parcel to nearby premises and therefore we do not recommend their use.
- Aylah Gold Buying Centre reserves the right to reject delivery of any package which appears to be damaged, opened, or tampered with.
- Any items consisting of non-precious metals will be returned to you at your own expense (unless requested to dispose of the items or to hold for up to 5 working days for the sender to collect in-store, whereby you will need to provide valid Photo ID which matches the online form and we accept no responsibility if items are lost or damaged while on hold with us) and Aylah Gold Buying Centre is not liable for any losses or damages occurred in transit.
- Items returned to you will be insured for the value equal to its scrap value, valued by AGBC, unless otherwise requested by you. Any extra premium for insurance will be at your own cost.
8. Tax Implications
The seller is responsible for understanding and adhering to any tax obligations related to the sale of gold, including capital gains tax or other applicable taxes. The buyer may be required to provide tax-related documentation for larger transactions depending on jurisdiction.
9. Privacy and Confidentiality
Both parties agree to keep the details of the transaction confidential. The buyer may collect personal information for the purpose of processing the transaction, and this information will be kept secure and used only as required by law.
10. Limitation of Liability
